thanks for these videos. I was at Heritage in 1987 and it was awesome. I too was captured by the behind the scenes stuff of the show. Here are some of the names to fill in the background, the man singing near the end is Les Marple, one of the PTL singers at the time. The show was hosted on this day by Ron Aldridge (dark suited man talking about the money at the end) and Brenda Davis. The previous host was Gary McSpadden. The woman singer was named Susan but I can't remember her last name.

Wow...this really brings it back for me. I remember the mood at that time. Everyone was pressing forward, but very uncertain what was going to happen.

newspaper guy...

Then you may be interested in seeing the 25 - 30 other videos I have of PTL, Heritage USA, the one occasion that I actually saw Jim & Tammy in the lobby of the Grand Hotel, plus the video of Tammy Faye & Tammy Sue singing a duet together.
I've uploaded to YouTube an enormous amount from my personal collection of home videos of the site formerly known as Heritage USA, from both 1988 and 2009.

Huh? The entire song is in the video. Or do you mean that it was cut off in mid-song during the airing?
I love watching your videos but your 'commentary' cracks me up!! 'Jim & Tammy are not present, after having resigned, then forcibly removed by Jerry Falwell.' How exactly can someone resign and then be 'forcibly removed'? You make it sound like Falwell put them in a bear hug and carried them out! LOL Also, you claim to know what was going on, but you don't know who ANYONE is!! All you seem to know are Jim and Tammy and that big bad man Jerry Falwell. Well here is a name for you David Taggart

Thank you for your comments. Allow me to elaborate. Jim & Tammy temporarily resigned, with the caveat that they were to return to leadership positions after a specific period of time, to which Falwell agreed. At the end of that time frame, when Jim & Tammy attempted to return, Falwell reniged on his agreement, and forced Jim & Tammy to vacate their offices and nearby home. If that's not a forced removal of power, I don't know what is.

I didn't go naming all sorts of names in this video precisely because I couldn't. My old video camera was neither provided enough clarity, or had enough power to zoom in on anyone in the studio seated area for recognition purposes. It'd have done no good whatsoever for me to start dropping this name or that name, then find out I was wrong all along. It's far better to not mention names than to mention wrong names, wouldn't you agree?
As far as Taggart, I am not able to see him in this video.

My goal was to provide a video from my personal collection, and then to add a bit of personal narration, based largely on memory. If I am wrong about a persons' name, or some other material fact, is that such an egregious foul?
Feel free to correct me where I am wrong, or add to my comments, but don't try to make someone feel like an idiot for trying.
Where are YOUR videos and comments?
