Syrian-Canadians rally against massacres and deadly attacks on the growing pro-democracy movement by the regime of President al-Assad - April 30, 2011

Thousands have been killed, arrested, tortured and oppressed by the regime. Syrians are rising up as have Arabs all over the Middle East and North Africa.

  • TVCA are you also a CIA front?

  • @jaba987 No. There is much debate on the uprisings and backing of Saudi Arabia and the United States of opposition groups to destabilize regimes in Syria and Libya. That does not mean there are real democratic and opposition forces that we should support on the ground. The Arab Spring is more complex than a black and white, good versus evil doctrine.

  • @TVACdotCA yes but my word of advice to the 'arab springers' is it is better to have the devil you know. America has nothing to offer but strife, famine, refuge crisis, false flag terrorism, predator drones and depleted uranium mega bombs all unleashed while wrapped in the the flag of human rights to the sound of singing tomorrows.

  • @jaba987 The U.S. and its arsenal of toxic death offer no solution. But there are real and tangible anti-authoritarian and pro-democratic forces in all Arab countries that need our support. It is hard for any real reform or revolutionary movements to gain any hold and independence for their countries and economies when bombs of any kind are raining down on them.

  • Everyone deserves to live a peaceful life and enjoy freedom. There is no doubt that the Baathist regime is very oppressive, however there are also many unacceptable actions (or crimes!) practiced by some of the Syrian opposition. Some of the chants that were said by those who are inside Syria incite hatred and sectarianism. Moreover, getting the Saudi government in the scene is not good for the Syrian opposition. Saudi Arabia is as oppressive (if not even worse) as the Syrian regime

  • @TVACdotCA there is no democracy in the western world, we are ruled by the central bank industrial warfare complex which runs the mainstream press and manipulates elections and owns most of income producing assets acquired via purchase with fiat money printing.

  • wow lots of flags and fancy signs
