Thanks for the heads up. I am currenlty trying to hunt down a 2009-2010 bar to modify so that I can keep my 2011 recoil for now. I'm thinking about having the Harken pulley down below and having the Ronstan block up top so that I can run the line up and down twice in order to get more leverage...any thoughts on that?
Thanks,

@surf2dz yes, this works too. The cleat up top, the pulley below and you go up to the cleat, down to the pulley and back up dead ending on the cleat. Benefit is that you get more purchase which is nice, downside is you have more tail flapping around. Personal preference but it should certainly work!

I tried this modification tonight on my 2011 recoil. Having some trouble with it. Few questions...assume you completely remove the IDS "5th" line feature? Also do you add new center lines that go up to the swivel or do did you add longer center lines that come directly down to the harken swivel?

@surf2dz Here are the instructions:
Yes you have remove the coil and the ids completely. I make my own kite lines as well and should have mentioned this. I like to set the system up so that all 4 lines are the same length. To convert standard cabrinha lines you will have to put an extension on the center lines which will then attach to the pulley. Lots of ways to skin the cat, just make sure you have about 20cm of range on your system...that's about all you need.
