"The Life" spends a day with J.J. Redick, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Shavlik Randolph. The future College and NBA stars join the top high school players in the Jordan Classic game.
@bxfearless i just dont think it was a good example to use garnett. Garnett came out of hs, Jordan said that college prepares u for the game unlike High School, and that players shouldnt cut their way to the nba. I know what he said, just using Garnett , who was a prep-to-pro player isnt a good example to use. Shaq would have been better.
@MISAMEscobar yes garnett was dominating force out of high school; but that is negligible and mj just uses him as an example good big man.
Even though it doesn't apply to every prep star. MJ says these things because more and more players decide to come out of high school each year and the draft the year prior that included kwame; 4 of the top10 players came out of HS and turned out to be busts, and 2 of the camps players also forfeited college and went undrafted.
@bxfearless yeah but Garnett- a dominating big man at the time in the league, was a prep-to-pro player, which doesnt make any sense, because he saying how a high school player- Kwame, isnt mentally ready to play in the game. When he talks about Kwame, hes pretty much saying high school players in general and their "recognizable characteristics." Yet he compares to Garnett who about 7 years earlier was a high school player . Even Amare was upset with Mj's comments.
@MISAMEscobar ?? he doesn't say Garnett was one of the prep star players mentally ready; he says kwame isn't ready to handle good big men like Garnett.
I remember when Shavlik Randolph was a top recruit....if he came straight out of high school he would have been drafted ahead of Amare Stoudemire....true story y'all...
