Grace Chang Singing "Carmen" in "The Wild, Wild Rose"

This reworking of the song "Habanera" from Bizet's opera "Carmen" is one of Grace Chang's most famous songs. It was arranged by the renowned Japanese composer Ryoichi Hattori, who pioneered the development of modern Japanese popular music with his introduction of jazz and blues elements. Hattori composed this and five other songs specifically for "The Wild, Wild Rose" (1961), a remarkable Hong Kong film noir that is widely regarded as one of the best Chinese movies ever made.
