So, now that they make this for an 1894C, I can report that it DOES NOT work.

The front sight will not be high enough - the rear sight is bottomed out. How can that be? Well, I think it's obvious they just packaged the same sights they use with the Scout Rail kit... which has the rear sight mounted right on the receiver. And, if you use those sights on the lever rail kit.. where that rear sight now sits on the rail... the front sight will not be tall enough.

You'd think they'd figure that out.

MAKE THIS FOR THE 10/22 and you guys wont be able to keep them in stock!!! I have your AO mount on my 35 rem 336 for years now and love it...... Ive wanted to make a 10/22 scout for so long its not even funny... I cant understand why this company ignores the market exposure that making this for the 10/22 would give them..... Also.. How about providing more night sight options for wheelgun shooters... Would be nice if they had night sights for a 686... cant find any on the website.

fyi-

best i can tell, the video starts by him showing us how to unload an 1894model, but later it shows him installing the rail on the 1895 (45/70) model.

when this was made (and as of Fall 2009) XS still don't make a "rail mount" for the 1894, although they do make a very different "scout scope" mount for the 1894.
