"Flight of Icarus" is a song by Iron Maiden. It's the band's 8th single and the 1st from the Piece of Mind album. The song is loosely based on the ancient Greek myth of Icarus who was imprisoned with his father Daedalus in the Labyrinth on Crete. So the pair fabricated wings for themselves from feathers and wax. Unfortunately Icarus, not heeding the advice of his father, flew too close to the sun, melting the wax that held the feathers together and thus fell to his death in the sea. Vocalist Bruce Dickinson admits that he had modified the original tale to make it an allegory of teenage rebellion against adult authority (which caused the death of Icarus in this case). I can relate to that... so, here is me playing Bass to my version of the song.

@MrSaxhero - I am glad you liked this version... not heard many positive feedback about this... I guess one must never mess with anthems... but I thought I'd try something new... This is how my band does it LIVE on stage...
The Harmonies you spoke about is an AWESOME idea... will try that out and let you know...

Really awesome and original cover man, never heard something like this before!! It would sound even more perfect if you would add somthing with harmonics in the intro, in my opinion.

@LOL11306 - Yeah true... I will be putting up the original too with me covering the bass... thats quite simple too... only because I have practiced it about a million times.
