This animation explains in a simple and attractive way how the domestic kWh price is formed in the EU and what the different components of this price are: production, transport, distribution, delivery and taxes. It highlights too that consumers are free to choose their electricity provider, which promotes competition and also that the cheapest electricity is the one we don't use...!

  • Fantastic european liberalization in France is bringing up the price of electricity because we apparently needed more competition which in the first place had to bring customers lower prices.

  • I've been browsing the Internet recently and came across some articles about electricity.

A Tesla Generator captures FREE electricity from the atmosphere, similar to a radio or television antenna and, because of its portability, works anywhere in the world. IF we all had free electricity, the knock on effects would result in cheaper prices in the shops and lower inflation. It could help create employment and help end the recession, primarily caused, I'm told, by high energy prices.

  • The EU hates Switzerland because the EU hates competion.!! Long live Switzerland!!!

  • @FlaaldtheSeneschal

Yes you are right. All states of europe are blue coloured blue. The EU-member states have no borders between them. And Switzerland has borders around him.

  • Neither that attractive nor simple.

  • Why have they coloured in Swittzerland in the EU map.

  • @everydaypanos the european union doesn't have the power to tax citizens, taxes only come from national governments.

  • What about cutting the TAXES?

  • Very good movie, I think! Anything that can get people to conserve energy and think about the environment is positive!
