On Monday, January 9th, the most searched for term on Google was "John 3:16," and that is because of the connection of that Bible verse to Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow.

He'd won an amazing playoff game against The Steelers, and had thrown the football the previous day for 316 yards. He was also famously known for painting the "John 3:16" verse on his eye black as a Florida Gator.

ColdWater Media was asked to produce a commercial with this Bible verse by Focus on the Family. It had to be finished and delivered in less than 48 hours.

So the same day we got the call we put out a call for kids. Almost 50 showed up. We shot 4 hours worth of material, and then worked through the night to get a rough cut for network approval by the next morning. Three versions later, we had approval. The spot was mastered and color corrected in Denver, and then a good man from Focus on the Family jumped on a plane at 1:00 AM in the morning to hand it off to the network in New York City the next morning. It was a fun challenge, and we certainly hope that message is well received!

  • Another shocking case of child abuse in the name of Iron Age superstition. This is the 21st century folks. Wake up! This BS must be stopped. The US is the most religiously dysfunctional country in the developed world and it is doing the country and the rest of the world untold harm. If you think your imaginary god and his imaginary son are so wonderful read the bible (god's little book of horrors) and take note of the wanton killing and cruelty mandated by them both. Luke 19:27 for starters.

  • 1 Tim 2:1, 3-6 1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; ... 3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time

  • @77Lenne ME TOO! I thank God that you believe it!!! I hope many more will believe it!!!

  • Leo Tolstoy's 1885 short story puts it best...Where love is, God is. I am a believer in John 3:16!!

  • @stega003 - Huh? Are you suggesting I am a devil?

  • @Ptetnt - Glad you found something to give you hope. Just wish it could have been grounded in reason and logic, and hope in yourself. This crutch you cling to comes with guilt and unreasonable expectations of a human being. Try not to beat yourself up too much when you fail to live up the all the standards. I'm not talking about basic common decency like kindness, cooperation & love. I'm talking about the fear & suppression that make you think your natural human instincts are a sin.

  • @stega003 - Right, and that just makes so much sense :/ Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.

  • @huggybear. Yes I am. From Islamic to atheist I have respected all people's religions....I may not agree with them, but as a Christian I have never told someone to there face or online that there wrong for what they believe. To say that John 3:16 represents hate and bigotry, in my opinion is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Jesus Christ has changed my life for the better, he gives me hope and joy that I have not felt for a long time.

Are you and others that disagree with christianity w
