Our special guest Arnold asks the Master what "exactly" is cultivation. The Master answers that there is no "exact" answer.
As we would cultivate land, we must also prepare the grounds of our minds before planting any seeds. We must pluck the weeds and plow the fields first. Then, after we have planted those first seeds, we must water it and nurture its growth. And we need not plant just one seed, but rather strive to produce an orchard of beauty within ourselves.
Foundation is the key. Thus, the seeds are the most imperative part of our path to our spiritual success. One cannot grow anything from the branches or leaves; it must stem from the seeds, themselves. Therefore, if one wants to grow goodness, he or she should start by planting the right seeds because it is the earliest and most fundamental.
Vivian then asks what we are preparing for and the Master answers that we are preparing for the seeds of goodness, the beauty within ourselves, spirituality, the faith, and virtues that grow from within.
The tree represents our spirituality, not just for goodness, as can it represent many other qualities. We should try to cultivate honesty, patience, empathy, etc. We can achieve this through meditation, bowing, taking care of others, and things of the like. The more tangible aspects of our lives, like hanging out with friends and coveting the latest gadgets, are mere branches rather than the pure seeds of goodness we are trying to plant.
Lastly, we must remember that it is never too late to start cultivating these seeds, even as an adult.
excuse my mumbling.
