Also, I think if McQueen was resistent to divorce it was probably because he didn't want to pay or lose any money. Wanted his cake and eat it, too. But it's hard to deny that all of them -- Neils, Ali McGraw and Barbara Minty are all dark-eyed beauties, but he kept going younger. Hard not to believe he wanted a younger model.

Well by the way, there are different versions of his biography. The one I read, not Neils, said he was broke and he persued her because she was a sucessful dancer. From what I've heard from her in what I read and what she says in interviews, specifically the biography Hollywood Mavericks, she disputes what might embarass her. Like marrying someone who is broke and might be attracked to her because she is sucessful. Personally I think Neils is beautiful and he's the jerk for cheating.

@gmt3010 He dumped MacGraw for a younger model, not Neile. According to her book, he cheated constantly, so she cheated too to get back at him, and he started beating her. She got pregnant in 1971 when their marriage was on the rocks, he refused to acknowledge it and she had an abortion. They divorced shortly after. By the way, he was not a "broke unknown" when they got together. Unknown, but not broke.

@citizenlen "For years" ? Try a year and a half. Neile had some pretty nasty things to say about him in her book. Nothing against her, as she did put up with a lot, but I don't think she was the love of his life

For years, it was Neile supporting Steve cos he was a relatively unknown actor and Neile had a studio contract. I really think Neile will always be the great love of his love, but Steve really blew it.

yea,well and actually if you read her autobiography, while he was a womanizer,(I love the guy,but) and Neile had had a little fling,and he found out, and he begged her for months,and she denied it, well he said, come on just tell me, and I'll never bring it up again, so she did, well he beat her and then left her for good. ego?

@gmt3010 Steve and Ali hooked up after he and Neile had divorced, so he didn't dump her for Ali. Actually, she was the one who filed for divorce after he beat her on Memorial Day weekend 1971.

come on. he was screwing around on her and she did the same thing to get him back. when he found out he hit her and they divorced. he didn't unload her for a younger model.
