Tornado returning to London with The Valentines Day Lunch Special on the Up relief line just east of Twyford station. This was my first time at this location having checked it out after watching Bittern yesterday. Stepladder was essential to see over the 6'6" fence, and securing the tripod was interesting!

Very good - notice how the exhaust seems to obscure the driver's view from the cab, though?

Thanks - The loco was certainly working until the second bridge but seemed to slacken off and with a slight cross wind the smoke started to drift. Although the signal was green, the next one was probably on amber as a stopping Turbo was only a few minutes ahead. It's straight here so the driver may well eased the regulator to keep it rolling rather than have a signal check near Maidenhead.

Graham, After looking at the location on Saturday I took the easy option by Sonning golf course, but on the main and slowing for Twyford west. Good effort I know how differcult it was. Derek

Thanks Derek, It wasn't too difficult but I wanted to use my monopod but couldn't find the quick release plate.

Nice video indeed. I really like the bridge and the field at Milley Road, just up the line from there, which are great for filming, especially for up trains :-) Have you been there too?
