So actually what James says here is that Vendera saved his voice. Jaime Vendera is the best vocal coach on the planet , and a great person too.

Here you truly have a singer who puts time, thought and effort into the voice; some rock singers would just go on stage and sing whatever comes out, but its awesome to see that James truly works with the voice and treats it respectfully as the instrument it is. People can say what they want; I love a lot of singer, but I would NEVER have ANYONE else in Dream Theater than James. He IS the voice of Dream Theater! He´s truly inspiring, keep on doing what you do James!
