Buy honey from beekeepers who do not spray chemicals on their hives and operate on organic farms. This is as close to truly chemical free honey that you can purchase. Most honest, environmentally friendly beekeepers who sell honey are upfront with you about not being able to define honey as organic. Just don't get fooled into purchasing a diluted, chemical overdosed honey pot that has the label "Organic" or "USDA organic" on it! Read about the company first.

There are no standards for USDA certified organic honey. The majority of honey labelled "organic" comes from Mexico, Brazil and other countries who will find a way to slap the label "organic" on their honey and then quite frequently mix other ingredients (ie; high fructose corn syrup) in to lessen costs. BEWARE of honey labelled ORGANIC. It is far too expensive to contain bees (they roam and find nectar from non-organic flower patches) and regulate the term organic for honey. Buy raw, local!
