I have had mine to 136 measured mathematically based on RPM, tires, gear ratio. It will be able to exceed 150 in about 6 months.

@guitarman2116 you must not no very much about clevelands then. there is no stock 289 , not even the 271 horse k codes that stand a chance against a 4v cleveland. they have crazy amounts of torque , and stock 4v cleveland heads outflow almost all big block chevy heads stock. show me a stock 289 head that does that

hope you have a tachometer. My buddy blew his motor going 120 mph in a 73 351 CJ. Now it's rebuilt with a msd rev limiter haha

You should take it off the jackstands next time and see what it will actually do on the road...

that's with the 100mph speedo right? I don't remember when they switched to 85 but i think it was 77

ive got a 76 supercab pickup with the square speedo...Top end it bounces around between the 30 mph and 40 mph...any faster and the valves float.(and my ass puckers!)
