Opening the Rafah crossing

Hundreds of Palestinians from Gaza have entered Egypt as the Rafah border crossing was reopened on Saturday by Egypt's interim military government.

The gateway has been mostly shut since Hamas routed Fatah from the Gaza Strip in internecine fighting in 2007.

Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing.

Thank God the gate is now open. People who are sick can be taken to hospital. Desperately needed food, medicines and building materials can reach these poor people who have suffered so much.

I serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). This God, who gave his first begotten that I might have eternal life, is not the same as Allah. There are not many ways to God.
