the legendary performer of stage, screen, television, and broadway, recently passed away on april 17th, 2007- this is one of her last performances, in New York City, 2006. here she sings "Alone" from the Marx Brothers film, A Night At the Opera, as well as an amusing anecdote about Harpo, Bing Crosby, and a touchingly fitting song at the end...

  • I am more than grateful I saw Kitty, and seeing this again just touched me very much. I saw her March 2006 and then September 2006... two moments I will carry with the rest of my life.

  • Such an Elegant woman.

    This was her song...

    Thank you for posting...

  • Dearest Kitty : We love and miss you so

  • She performed right up to the end. I caught a part of her act in Florida maybe the year before she passed away. She was brittle, but still entertaining. She told great stories about parties she had thrown. We ate it up.

  • thats quite possible---although i believe she truly loved moss she might have had a fling---who knows and so what

  • I think she was in love with Alan Jones when they sang together in the movie which I listen to very often.

  • i was a txi driver in ny in 1974 and had the opportunity to have her in my cab---a lovely down-to-earth unassuming woman who treated with me with grace and class and we spoke for about the arts for about 10 minutes---i never forgot that r.i.p. ms carlisle---u exude class, dignity, and were a true new yorker

  • she really is swell

  • So happy to find this! I recently recorded the song myself - but had never heard Kitty do it. Many, many thanks! How lovely!
