East St. Louis Gospelettes "Jesus Affair"

My mom's gospel quartet The Queens of Harmony of Fort Payne, AL used to sing this back in the day. This is one of my favorites of all of the Gospelettes hits. I hope you enjoy it too!

The East St. Louis Gospelettes recorded three albums for Checker in the early seventies before moving to Nashboro were they recorded two albums in the late seventies. In the eighties they recorded one album for Birthright.

Frances Moore was leader of the East St. Louis Gospelettes. If you have more information about them, please let me know.

I used to play this album all the time, my FAV on that album was "Stoop down and buckle up my shoe" I was so weak when the lead started talking about Buster Brown shoes. LOL

You're so right about the buckle up my shoe song. This was an awesome album. My husband and I bought it after hearing them at a concert. They're even better in person. I'll never forget, right before they toured with the Commodores, they did a song called "Watch Me"--tore the house down!
