EQ is set flat with no filtering, Speaker crossover settings set at normal with 35 percent of total midrange and highs sent to dipole mids and tweeters.

Used older JVC camcorder but sound was recorded in 16 bit stereo

Beautiful Scott speakers! Very interesting cabinet design - I like the way the one set of mids and tweets are firing straight up. That must produce sort of an omnidirectional high frequency sound in the room. What does "dipole" mean?

@TwinMillMC Dipole is the cabinet design where matching speakers in this case midranges and tweeters are placed on the top of the cabinet. Does produce great sound from anywhere the speakers are placed in the room. Only a certain user set percentage of the sound comes from the top. This was Scotts flag ship speaker in the late 70s and is considered extremely rare. Thanks for looking and the comments.

Those are some of the coolest scott's I've ever seen, they sound fantastic. I've been a Scott fan ever since I found my 385R (which, sadly, passed away), but I still have a 335R, a PS-17 TT, and a wonderful little pair of SA-166's. They've got such just top quality build and design, a nifty brand. Great vid!

@JakeLionsWorld Yeah I was searching for this model for a very long time. My dad has a pair of 196B Scotts and a Sansui 7070 hes had since brand new. Scott makes great receivers. Scott in general is under rated. My most recent puchase is Scott Pro100 the first gen and are being restored. The sa 166 are the bookshelf speakers right? Ive heard those are great. I have a Scott 380R receiver but the Power Supply is dead. Thanks for the comment!
