This song was inspired by the emotions he felt after his dog died. In his song he approaches grief from atheist perspective. Knowing that there's no afterlife, he is comforted by the thought that at least his dog won't have to miss him.

  • "I prefer what's real and what we had here was enough." Exactly.

  • Great song!!!

  • Beautiful song, heard it on inkredulous, very funny man

  • Losing a pet can be devastating, because pets, especially dogs, are so accepting of you the way you are...totally non-judgmental. I burst out in tears when my dog of 12 years died. Loss is loss though, and will always be with us. Making up stories about "where we go" after we die really doesn't help. Most atheists are more accepting of the reality of death and less afraid of it than theists. This has been documented in a survey, if you don't believe me...google it.
