I'm sorry, but having this lineup performing The Best Disco In Town is not right at all. It's fraud.

I'll never understand the changes that was made to the group around 78. It completely destroyed it all and it would never be the same again.

To me Ritchie Family will always be: Cheryl Mason-Jacks, Cassandra Wooten, and Gwen Oliver.

It's their faces I see, when I hear the name Ritchie Family and that's how it always will be! And it's them I want to see perform The Best Disco In Town.

best to look at their singing at the end of Can't Stop the Music, and see for yourself because the lead there is Vera Brown

Actually I think the lovely lady in the middle with dark pony tail is Ednah Holt, not Vera Brown. Vera has a very distinctive full voice. Check out the clip of the ladies doing American Generation back in the day.

@AVIDEOGAL The one with the light hair is Jacqui Smith-Lee. Her hair is just lighter, but she looks the same. These are all of the original singers from 1979 forward. Personally, I liked both versions of the Ritchie Family - the 1975-1978 version with Cassandra, Gwen and Cheryl and this version with Vera, Dodie and Jacqui. And for the record, (in case it wasn't already mentioned) Ednah Holt, a brief member in 1978, did the lead for the "American Generation" lp.

THIS 2008 "RITCHIE FAMILY" HAS AT LEAST 2 MEMBERS FROM THE 1980 "RITCHIE FAMILY" WHEN "CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC" CAME OUT - I THINK I RECOGNIZE VERA BROWN (LEAD SINGER) WITH THE DARK PONY-TAIL UP AND THE OTHER GIRL LOOKS LIKE THEODOSIA "DODIE" DRAHER WITH THE DARK HAIR DOWN - THE OTHER GIRL WITH THE LIGHT BROWN HAIR I DON'T RECOGNIZE - BUT THEY ARE DOING 2 OLD HIT SONGS FROM BEFORE THE FIRST 2 WITH THE DARK HAIR WERE EVEN IN THE GROUP FROM 1976 AND 1978. CHECK OUT MY VIDEO OF THEM FROM 1980....

I actually view your comments from time to time. I thank you all for your continued interest in the Ritchie Family. I gladdens my heart. I also wish the new Ritchie Family well. As someone commented, they keep the memories alive.
