Doubtless the best indie rock band from the old good 90's...

(John Goodman brandishing his gun) Am I the only one around here that likes Archers of Loaf more than Pavement?

No doubt, 2nd best. But Modest Mouse was #1 for me.

I went to school in the south where I was turned on to these guys way back around '93-'94...Archers, Polvo, Seam...the Chapel Hill sound...can't believe it's been so long but the songs bring back memories of fun and good simpler times...before computers...riding skateboard, waves, making art...now shits just weird and lame and played out ; )

There's an article comparing Archers of Loaf with Suede -- effectively a comparison between U.S. and U.K. indie trends of the early '90s -- in The Guardian today (4 Aug. 2011). That's what got me here to hear this for the first time. It's a great song. To read the article, just Google: archers of loaf guardian

  • chrisocony .

I'm with you Skorbutt. Pavement is Perfect Sound Forever (and for the last 10 years Malkmus has kept the glorious sound going). I remember thinking in the 90s that Archers were actually a band influenced by Pavement since they were a couple of years behind them.

Archers had many great songs, but none better than this.
