You're right for the most part, the association with "Monster Cable" is the reason I am not bying these headphones. Their products are over-marketed junk. The only reason they are succesful is because of the ignorance of the casual consummers, who do not know much about technology, like how HDMI is a digital signal and there is no difference in signal and thus video quality between a $10 Monoprice cable and a $250 Monster cable.
