@luminescentfeeling Well no, with 2wd automatic is best if you are going up compressed snow and ice and if it has traction control it would go up with auto box as it would select the next grear and that would add extra traction. Manual does perform well but with perserverance and traction control. Auto does also perform well on 4x4.

Heheh...I had Audi A4 1.8 T (originaly it had 150hp but mine had 186, and dunno why :) ) which was made for USA market...and i've driven Euro Audi A4...there is some difference btw them...nothing special... Euro was quattro, but dunno about USA version...there was no badge of qattro or sonething like that...

In the "small" cars (Golf, A3) they are cheapo 4WD, whatever they claim (Quattro or 4Motion). In the big cars (A4, Passat,...) they are real Quattro, again, whatever they claim (Quattro or 4Motion). Marketing's trying to fool the one who don't know.
