Here are two shots I took from Elk Grove, CA.
Train 1) Amtrak San Joaquin 701 running a little late.
Train 2) Union Pacific ZLCBR coming off the Elk Grove siding after 701 passed. Running a little slow.

I didn't know this was a no horn zone but because neither train ever blew their horn at the major crossing, I'm guessing it was. I hope you enjoy! RATE AND COMMENT ALL VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude o my gawd, is Elk Grove a quiet zone now? When I railfanned Elk Grove in year 2006 trains blasted their horns through town.

  • That one crossing is. The blow throw just north of there.

  • I can't believe how frequently trains come through & how heavy traffic is. Other metro areas when roads are expanded eliminate the crossings via overpasses or underpasses. Elk Grove & Sacramento areas are still RR Xing friendly & no one seems to mind waiting in heavy traffic

  • Ah, ok. When I did my RR photo shoot series in Elk Grove in year 2006 I was at the crossing at Elk Grove Blvd.

  • awesome video

  • Cool!
