In this clip from www.artistshousemusic.org - Terry McBride, founder and CEO of Nettwerk Music Group, shares his views on the business model he believes is the future of the music industry -- in specific, a state of "collapsing copyright" in which one entity controls all three of an artists' saleable assets (publishing, recordings, and likeness) and therefore can leverage all three assets at once to develop an artists' career. He then illustrates his argument with stories taken from Nettwerk's own roster of artists, and shows how this new paradigm could transform the entire process by which consumers find and obtain music.

  • Fantastic interview!

  • THANKS...GREAT INTERVIEW...BUT THATS ALWAYS THE CASE...THATS WHY I'M A SUBSCRIBER...KEEP IT UP... @POTAUA FROM WHAT I GOT OUT OF IT, IT IS SIMILAR TO ELVIS...BUT THERE WERE ALOT OF DETAILS LEFT OUT, SO I WOULD GUESS ONE GROUP HOLDS THE RIGHTS, OR SHARE THE RIGHTS 50/50... @ANDYBABY...ITS AN EXAMPLE, OF HOW TO MAXIMIZE REVENUE ....THE NEW PARADIGM IS, LIKE HE MENTIONED, "GIVE THE CONSUMER WHAT THEY WANT, WHENEVER THEY WANT IT, HOWEVER THEY WANT IT.." THE MORE "PRODUCTS", THE MORE SALES

  • Isn't this like Elvis where all his music and image rights are controoled by one group?

  • I don't understand which 'new paradigm' he's talking about. That they are selling multiple versions of songs?
