my 93 has a 3.0 and im in the processing of rebuilding it now

No, I cut the protective cover from the inside. You'll see. Just make sure you make some kind of rain blocker for it.
-
did you just drill out holez in the scoop to make it functional?
-
Yes, the hood just swaps over. I believe the scooped-hoods became available in 99 with the introduction of the Highlander Edition. An interesting tidbit is that I did a bit of testing after I made the scoop function (it comes blocked from the factory) and it actually lets hot air out while slowing or stopped vs. cool air in while driving. Weird huh? I made a little rain blocker plate so I just put that on when it rains.

i have a 97....can i just swap a scooped hood.. did any 97's come with a scoop? or will i have do do some modifications?
-
I snagged it on CL for $50, LOL. As far as the e-locker goes, I just bought a donor rig, swapped it over, then sold the donor rig for slightly more than I bought it for. Worked out great, but I did have to swap the front and rear of both rigs due to gear ratio differences. Not cool in the AZ heat!

sweet....what did that scoop cost?i've got scoop envy, so bad!...do u know where to pick up an e-locker for a decent price?
-
yea thats what killed mine. So is there anyway to know if u are getting a good 4Runner with a 3.0 or were they all bad? because ive seen some with a ton of miles on them.
I use to live in Sedona, why not just get out of the car and walk?

And get run over by other off-roaders? This trail was made specifically for 4x4 tours and exploration so that's what we did. We enjoy hiking too, just not on this particular trip.
