TechCrunch's Michael Arrington accuses author David Kirkpatrick of one-sided journalism in his recently released book on Facebook. Regarding Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's legal challenges from the Winklevoss twins and Divya Narendra, "If he stole anything," says Kirkpatrick, "there is nothing he stole that they didn't steal."

-----

Author David Kirkpatrick traces the story of the most powerful social networking tool of our day from its humble beginnings to its role as an international phenomenon. He is in conversation with TechCrunch's Michael Arrington.

The Facebook Effect is the only book written with the full cooperation of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Started only six years ago, Facebook can now claim more than 400 million users and a potential valuation of $100 billion by 2015. Is an IPO forthcoming? - Commonwealth Club of California

David Kirkpatrick, longtime senior editor for Internet and technology at Fortune Magazine, has written for two decades about the computer and technology industries, as well as the impact of the Internet on business and society. His book, entitled The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company that is Connecting the World will be published by Simon and Schuster in the U.S. June 15, 2010. The book describes Facebook's history and how this newly-dominant Internet force is changing behaviors across societies worldwide.

J. Michael Arrington is an entrepreneur and the founder and co-editor of TechCrunch, a blog covering Silicon Valley technology start-ups and the wider technology field in the USA and abroad. Wired and Forbes have named Arrington one of the most powerful people on the Internet. In 2008, he was selected by TIME Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world.

  • @seemoretube Except that Mark was associated directly with the original creators. So the idea didn't come from a vacuum.

  • @goog2k You can't use the words "Nike", "Lamborghini", or any brand names in your products without permission. Are those words actual physical inventions?

  • @CosmoHunter24 Settling was their only profitable option. No hook nose Kazarian fake jew from Goldman Saches is going to fund a bunch of gentiles to blow up an idea. These rats only back up their own kind.

  • @benbwalls Zuck stole it and got his Kazarian fake jew hook nose inbreds from Goldman Sachs to fund it so they it can blow it up even bigger. These Kazarians have been stealing from their host gentiles from centuries. That's why the Germans wanted to exterminate them.

  • @MTCoblivsicas12345 Don't trust a Kazarian fake jew into your ideas. It won't be yours for long.

  • @steven4rmnewyork Mark is not a real jew. He's just one of many Kazarian fake jews stealing from gentiles.

  • @MTCoblivsicas12345 my point was that mark wanted to reach a bigger audience than just harvard. His Facebook is different from the twins idea.

  • @raran44 no idea starts with wanting something for the world cos it wouldnt work it requires a target market, which Zuckerberg used students as his target market, if you went on Facebook when there was My Space around thier were lots of students. Facebook just grew to include more people at all ages. You cant just say "ye the whole world is going to use this" because thier is no research to show that when you start up.

  • The Winklevoss' wanted a social network for Harvard student. Zucky wanted one for the whole world. And Zucky is using his own internet code for Facebook. Mark didn't steal anything.

  • @MTCoblivsicas12345 The winklevoss wanted a social website for Harvard students. Zuckerberg wanted a social network for the whole world. Not to mention that Zuckerberg uses his own programming code with facebook, not the Winklevoss'. HE didn't really steal anything.
