Just as the 2007 Valentine's Day storm dumped 6 feet of snow on Jay Peak, we did a little skiing at Jay Peak and then hiked off Jay for some backcountry skiing in Big Jay Peak in Vermont. These videos are from 3 days skiing Jay Peak (inbounds) and hiking out to Big Jay.

A good amount of this is in-bounds and sidecountry; I recognize parts of the Dip, Timbuktu and Valhalla in here. Regardless of where it's shot vs. what it says and how many times the dudes fall, it makes me Jones hard for the season to start. See you all in the trees!

@vtskihouse delete that comment, bro. too many folks skiing the illegal cut, causing many problems up high on big jay with erosion. fuck GPS and fuck hiking in from the tram- it's really messing up big jay with the illegal cut from the top- and the increased traffic.
seen a lot of lost folks back there recently,and the lot's getting filled with people dropping a car at 8-9am, leaving it all day, skiing last run. the lot's not that big. gotta leave room for hikers going in.

there is a small parking lot a few miles down the road... mark the spot with a GPS and you can ski right up to your car. .
