Interaction
Blumenveld is an interactive installation consisting of a field of flower-like objects.
The individual flowers react on visitors. Each opens up when someone approaches. When he or she has left, it closes again.
One or more special flowers are activated only by a group of people. It takes more than a single individual to be involved to experience this part of the installation.
Social concept
We want to invite people to engage and be more than just spectators. We want to motivate them to take part in their surroundings, to trigger the thought of shaping their world. And also to invite them to connect to each other, and to act together. To experience that relation brings synergy.
To meet these goals we create physical installations that make people nosy, that draw and attract people and motivate them to connect to each other.
Current state
We finished the first phase of the blumenveld exhibition: a field of flowers that react on visitors by opening and closing.
The installation attracts and invites visitors. By their physical presence and motion they can make the individual flowers open and close.
In the our last exhibition we have seen that the flower-field invited people by drawing their attention, drew them into the field and involved the individual.
Next step
As second step we want to connect those flowers to work together.
The field should be able to detect when a number of people is present. Whenever this happens it responds by triggering a special flower. This special flower can only be activated by a group of people that interact with the flower-field at the same time.
Thereby we want to connect the individuals and make them act together.
The result of an individual interaction results in a special experience for the visitor, but only by cooperation of individuals the full effect of the installation, and thus the full experience, can be reached.
