I think there's another side of horror behind Ted's (in)sanity that isolates him from the others.

Well done, sir. Brilliant analysis. I would agree that it's not until after reading the story and thinking about it does one start to question Ted's sanity. I was struck by the fact (and this has been pointed out numerous times) that Ted makes a point of giving her race.

The video game has a "happy" ending... sorta. You can avoid the "no mouth" ending.
