Hmmmm....Sony has been using carbon fiber in their X-series netbook and Z-series notebook for years now. It's a $50 premium.

@minipcpro carbon fibre is too expensive, the ipad already cost way more than it is worth. I rather apple cut some prices rather than cutting some weight. And perhaps, maybe they can throw in some better specs.

@moneyman10k Apple has been playing with carbon fiber for about 7 or 8 years now. Every time this rumor surfaces it turns out to be false.
