This is a quick animation done in solidworks 2008 of a wasp major. Built by Pratt & Whitney during late WWII, it developed up to 4300HP and had 4 rows of 7 cylinders. Wiki it for more info

  • i know this is old but the wasp major R-4360 only made 3500hp @ 2700rpm wet (with anti-detonation fluid). beautiful sketch tho, must have taken some serious time and effort... A+

  • Put one of those the the back of a panel truck and you'd be flying!!

  • Very cool animation too!!

  • as with your hurcules video video, thanks.

  • imagine designing this engine in the late 1930's...no calculators, no computers...one hell of an engineering accomplishment

  • Great Animation.

    Must have taken significant effort.
