Birmingham v Brentford Carling Cup 2010 - Sam Wood's Brentford Goal

Brentford played old rivals Birmingham in the Carling Cup in 2010. 3500 Brentford fans made it up the motorway to cheer on their team and were less than 30 seconds away from a 5th round home tie against Aston Villa. Sam Wood scored this tremendous goal to send the Brentford fans into raptures. Kevin Phillips popped up in the 3rd minute of injury time to equalise and the Bees went out on penalties.

They may not have won the game but they outsung the Birmingham City fans for 90 minutes. Small consolation. They went on to win the cup
