This Side Up

This is an impressionist film shot on black and white reversal film on a reflex Bolex 16mm camera. It wasn't until editing that the real meaning of the film came through to even myself. Even though I used a female actor, as I watched piece the film together I saw myself. I saw the journey I take every time I try to make a film, the time, the agony, the tools, and the end result. The film can at the end became very self-reflexive and really tied the film together for me. However, it is an impressionist film so every view will take their own meaning from it. Enjoy.
