This is how I field dress my large game today. Where were you when I shot my first deer? being inexperienced, I made a mess out of my deer. This will help the first timer for sure who doesn't have a dad to show them the right way. Thank you

A much easier way to field dress deer is to actually use a field dressing knife designed for field dressing. The Viscerator by FieldTorq Knives, check it out. Take a 10 minute job down to 3. Never puncture the intestines or bladder. Safest knife I've ever used. Videos are on YouTube.

I think you have gone to great lengths to keep the body intact. I usually skin the animal and quarter it. If you slice the body throat to pelvis it seems to go much faster. Don't get me wrong, it is a good video for beginners and i understand you would normally perform this affield and if you live in a warm climate it must be done quickly to cool the meat as fast as possible. I don't like the fact that the head is still on and i am very picky about the bladder. Good video.

Thank You! Just getting into deer hunting and this was a great help.

and you will find it a lot easier doing it in the feild

and......this is gralloching........not dressing, dressing is after the gralloch when you prepare in for hanging or for going to a game dealer or whatever

i know this is a video for learners but honestly, a lot of this is total shite, dont need string for anything, jst a knife and the mount of time you wait trying to hang it up and all the rest, i could have done it in fucking in about 1 min 30 secs. and you can do it in the field after its shot, cos leaving it in tht long is not good for the carcase

Wow this is the longest VID ever .......I seen one were guy did all this plus skin and cut all the meat off in 9 min Wtf... is he doing .....

What do you next? do you age the animal for a few days before you butcher?

@threehvacguys Yeah my father said that too. I think it's just a American thing.

hmm..never hung a deer to gut it. always on the ground and always cut the balls and penis away first, then the arse. i am curious what is all this level one and level 2 stuff?? im from u.s.a.
I must say this is not good practice the deer should be gralloched in the field as soon as pos within say 30 mins ,the masenteric lymph nodes should be checked, red offal should be done at the larder this would not pass DMQ 2

@steveja777
Sorry mate this video was never designed to be for people who are training to pass level 2.
This is the basics of how to cleanly field dress a deer for people how have no experience and are from around the world ( i explained this in the first video ) not just people who can afford to pass level 2 in the UK.
Nor was this video to show how to inspect for disease. I also did the gralloching in the larder so that people can see clearly, take a look down at all the positive comments

Why don't you just do all that in the woods right after you shot it? just take the out the stomach, puncture the diaphragm, empty the animal on blood and leave rest until you get home. But hey, im swedish =) it was very intresting though!!

i normaly do all this out in the field however it is very hard to video on your own with good enough light so that people can see what you are dong which is were some other field dressing videos have failed

First off, the best video on youtube for feild dressing that i could find. but my question is what about the urinary tract? it is connected to the digestive system (stomache etc) and i didn't see any "special" cut in the penis area. does it hust rip out when you pull?

Thier is no special cut that you need to make around penis. But always check your local best practice guidence. The bladder is a transusent pair shaped sack that is in the lower adomin is may or may not be full of urine. You can tie some string around it to seal it and prevent leakage then just pull it out with the rest of the guts. It is best to cheak to see what your local game laws/advice and best practice advise
