  • The information in the video was accurate and the examples were useful in that they are effectively real-world. If I had one major complaint it was that there were three volume changes throughout the video and they were each seemingly worse than broadcast television engaging commercial feeds (which are ~ +20% versus episode broadcast volume levels).

  • Hi

Thanks for your comments which I have to agree with.

I produced the Tutorial in response to a request from Microsoft a couiple of years ago.

They said it was OK and I don't have incentive to make it 100% - except for a desire to do everything perfectly - but that doesn't seem to survive past the first round of cost-effectiveness analysis.

    But thanks again.

    Regards

    Barry

  • Hi Xithon,

Thanks for your comments, which are very useful when I step back and think about it. Microsoft asked for something kind of serious and they liked what I did so that was it ! I am not sure if I can work up the enthusiasm to do another one for Video Games. I like your idea of asking students to produce their own Tutorial.

    Regards

    Barry

  • Great explanation, but a bit dull. My students swiched off before the key parts. Question I always with is; How can we make Normalization exciting?

  • Here are other Comments :-

    1) great sir .thanks a lot

    2) very helpful. thank you.

    3) thanks a lot mate.

    5) remind me with godfather giving a speech about db

The problem is that the subject matter is academic and theoretical.

We want students to understand a Data Model. We are not offering them an exciting time.

Please ask your students what would make it exciting for them.

You can make it exciting by telling them that if they fail the exam the punishment will be severe.

  • Very informative. Thank you.

  • why is don vito teaching me about databases?

  • What is schema ?

Generic name meaning data base software ?, Or proprietary software product name ?

  • Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks !!!!!

  • OLD GEISER!

  • Sorry Barry not meant to offend you,

    1) It is good.

    2) I used it because it was a good clear explanation on a topic that A Level students often struggle with.

    3) The comments were just to help further improve a good resource.

Maybe Xithon's idea is a good one. I normally use examples like online music stores asc well as trad GP surgery, hopital ward, College course reg ...etc scenarios.

    Many thanks

    Mr Gazz

  • You can try what I did, which really improved how I deliver training courses. Have a look for Tony Robbins on youtube, he's a kinda motivational speaker, and just puts so much passion into what he talks about. Give it a go,. You'll change your delivery so much....
