I was a faithful watcher for many years. Learned lots of dances on there, starting with the Stroll and the Twist !! Loved this show.

While the late 1950's were both the "early years" and "golden age" for "American Bandstand", the show remained on national television through 1989.
It's 32 years on national TV (and five years before that as a local show in Philadelphia) made it one of TV's longest-running music programs.
Just about every dance craze from the late 1950's through the 1980's got it's first national TV exposure on "Bandstand".
