Chinese dissidents thrown into mental hospitals

Wednesday marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Even as the world commemorates the anniversary, there are reports that in China, citizens who challenge the authorities are being thrown into psychiatric hospitals and forcibly medicated. One Chinese citizen claimed he was lashed to a bed, forced to take pills and given injections that left him numb and woozy.

Andrew Nathan, an expert on human rights issues in China and professor at Columbia University, joins Martin Savidge to discuss the prevalence of such treatment, Chinese media coverage of the story and U.S. challenges to human rights abuses in China.

I was committed by the state (in the USA) to a mental hospital SOLELY because I filed papers with the FEC to run for President of the United States. Start ending human rights abuses in the USA before you start pointing fingers at others. Justice begins at home.

Sad and outrageous, but not surprising. The Soviet Union did the same thing, google Natalya Gorbanevskaya. Totalitarian regimes will stop at nothing to suppress resistance.

China has to do it to save the Country and its people. The action may seem harsh but if nothing is done, China can decent into Chaos. This what the West and esp USA wants. China in Chaos. Here in the "Land of the Free" there are laws that actually monitor anyone that has a bumper sticker on their car that says "Campaign For Liberty" as a terrorist threat.

The regime in power in the USA has increasingly been forcing injections on people who are innocent and compliant. In Arizona, Nevada, and Mexico, in their Chapter 36 law there is a paragraph or clause that states the government can inject those that hospital officials or government officials feel are danger to themselves or others. I was injected and tortured by the fed before that law passed. I was a FDIC bank examiner who investigated a murder of a top man. Overthrow the war criminals.
