5th Generation Go Kart:
1.6 VW engine, 5 speed manual transmission ( VW ACH ) with a 1.8T vw jetta turbo ( leaking ) 1.9 Diesel injectors, Rexroth hydraulic gear pump 23 GPM, Hydraulic relief valve, 0 - 20GPM flow control, 6 way valve as forwards / reverse, and a Sauer-Danfoss OMH-200 Hydraulic Orbital motor ( 20GPM ).
Very knobby, wide mud tires in rear, solid 1 inch axle, Trailer class wheels for front.
Current weight: around 500lbs
1st Generation Go kart:
8HP Briggs gas with Canadian Tire Garden cart frame, 1 Can of octane booster per 1.5L tank of fuel, Motor still runs, Snowblower Traction drive unit,
2nd Generation Go kart:
2 Garden cart frames, side by side, 11 HP princess auto gas engine, Ford Taurus 5 Speed Manual Transmission,
3rd Generation Go Kart:
Snowblower traction drive unit from 1st machine, upgraded to the 5 speed trans from the 2nd machine a few weeks later, melted the traction drive wheel while going through the forest,
Custom frame, and steering, 6hp Princess Auto diesel engine, powered by used canola oil, ran a few times on a mix of Kerosene, Canola Oil, Engine oil, a little ATF fluid, and Cetane booset with Anti-gel agents for winter.
4th Generation Go Kart:
3rd machine upgraded with a 10HP electric start, 418cc Diesel engine (ebay), glow plug, homemade injector line heater, magnetic fuel tank heater. Later added a vw turbocharger, lasted 2 months before the turbo went kaput.
5th Generation Go kart:
Frame, steering, seat, from 4th gen, frame in front of seat was extended 12 inches. And all the fancy features you see now.
