  • @byrd1nypa ...Wow your father wrote this song. I grew up in Brooklyn and I remember my mother singing this song over and over. I must have been eight or nine years old at the time, maybe 1967 or so. I still remember the words to it. I think it was the first song that I ever remembered the words to. I'm going to try to play it on my harmonica if I can find the music for it.

  • @KrissyKris725 You're right, and I remember him, from when I was a kid growing up in Jamaica Queens. My father, Gayle Brown wrote this song. I remember him at our house, and I remember going to his house with my dad. He was one of the greats.
