ruEd (2143Dead Strobl, kauders, marufura fufunjiru) play versions I and II of John Cage's 0'00" combined. This is an excerpt of the video which was produced based on composition methods developed by John Cage. The live material was filmed at Sonntags Abstrakt in Graz, Austria.

  • Right. And the second version of 0'00" uses an electronically amplified playing table, activated by a game. Cage performed it playing chess with Marcel Duchamp.

    In this performance both versions are combined.

  • 0'00" by John Cage is a piece in which the performer has to 'do one thing' in a heavily amplified setting. Further instuctions are: you shouldn't attempt to play music, and it should actually be something that's useful or meaningful to anyone. It should also be something else every performance.

    Cage performed this piece for the first time writing down the actual instructions for this piece.
