Used to be a brass plate on the plinth with compass points pointing out what was where. Great shame spent many happy times walking up from Cottage Farm Estate as a boy. Bloody vandals.

I would give all these palm trees and this beach for one stroll up Barr Beacon. I would walk down to the bottom of sand cliffs and watch the Sand Martins. I have been away from home a long long time.....too long .
