What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • "Everybody should be free to believe what they want, and we should be free to call it stupid" classic.

  • The free speech fabric in Canada is taking a beating.

We have these "Human Rights Tribunals and Commissions" which have persecuted people for speaking their minds about religions (muslims in particular)

Sadly very few pols will speak out against them since they do not want to be labeled as "against human rights"

Gotta love Canada, we are so Politically Correct that we handcuff ourselves about having a real conversation about almost anything.

These -kangaroo court- HRCs are in need of reform

  • I think that religion should be criticized but I think that lately it has gotten out of hand. Religion is not to blaim for every problem in the history of human existance.

  • It's the same thing in France. Most people are atheists of sorts, but they will be shocked at any criticism of religion. Christianity-bashing isn't too difficult and fairly common, but atheists, even those with a Christian background, will take offense if you criticize Islam, or a non-Christian religion, because they equate it to xenophobia or racism. I've had very tense debates with otherwise intelligent friends who couldn't stand it that I'd say things like "Islam isn't a religion of peace".

  • seriously, the people who say ""Oh well this is just their faith, and everyone can have their own faith, and we should critize it, EVER""" are so anyoing. I have atheists in my family who think like that. Its like """Well, your an atheist, but you shouldnt mind all those theists""" wtf.

  • @Mathesonguy so you're telling me people don't stand up for the rights of some people so they don't appear to be against human rights?

    just wow

  • @Mathesonguy I was unaware that happened, here. I'd ask for references, but seeing as how I believe you, and don't think I could stand to read this without my blood pressure rising, I'm going to chalk it up to "ignorance is bliss" and leave it alone.

  • Looking forward to the CFI's TTC "Extraordinary Claims" campaign!

Justin Trottier was interviewed in the recent Eye Weekly.

  • @ranchai100 that is what multiculturalism when done wrong brings.

  • @Macabre215 continued... yet during the many trials, any white who opposed the fact that certain information about these scums past crimes and gang affiliations and any critisism about 1 of these scum saying on video that he would be out in a few years a kill another white for kicks was considered by and large hate speech. This is what multiculturalism brings.
