Dude, a little gas down the carb throat will work wonders on a start.

a power brake booster would be good also if you have the motor out ,try the mid 70's 360 cid flex plate and starter these are much easier to deal with than the long bendix type original brakes can stop good BUT, the drum diamiter cant be exceeded for heat reasons and the shues may need sanded to fit the drum
