The Pletts family travel from Srinagar to Leh overland on one of the world's most infamous roads. Long considered a difficult journey because of the sheer mountainous drops and poor conditions, in the late 90's the road became global front page news after President Clinton called it 'the most dangerous place on earth' due to its situation along the "Line of Control', the disputed boarder with Pakistan. Even when we went you had to watch the news and getting insurance was impossible!

In July 1976 (!) I drove with my already 8 years old Citroen 2CV4 from Srinagar to Leh. I actually started my trip -all by myself- in Amsterdam. The road was in much worse condition than I see here on your nice video......

Thank you to post this movie because i did the same road in the opposite and didn't have no more batery in my camera. This landscape was incredible.
