Despite Brad Kern's shitty character lobotomy for Cole, Julian is able to act through it. Poor Cole: first possessed by the Source after trying to save Phoebe, then she blames him and moves on, then tells him he can only ever be evil when he tries to be good, then he goes insane, then they kill him. All while he still loves her.
