Dead people's insides

A wee trip to the museum with my dad. This was an EXCELLENT exhibit. Go see it if you ever get the chance. I mean it, it's special.

The baby in the harness is not me, but rather a random internet baby.

Every time I say "arteries" I mean "blood vessels."

All images copyright someone else, probably Bodyworlds. I'm most likely using them illegally, which is unfortunate, as they're quite spiffy and the video would be dull(er) without them.

EDIT: Wow, I even tried to put a good image in the right place for the screencap this time, but that plan failed miserably because I did the math wrong. D'oh.

I visited the Körperwelten/Bodyworlds exhibit in Hamburg. It only cost about 5 Euros.

I really enjoyed it, and never understood all the controversy. My favourite part was a disclaimer on the wall: "Please keep in mind that the penises in this exhibit look unusually long because the exhibits have no skin and the root of the penis is considerably deeper than the skin."

Phew, way to calm us shocked alpha males down.

My boyfriend and I considered going to that when it was in Minneapolis, but we decided against it for a couple reasons. First, we found out they wouldn't allow photography. Being a photographer, my boyfriend lost interest. Plus, it was really expensive for something that was supposed to be educational, and we have this "thing" about the importance of free/affordable education. Stupid ethics!

That's a bummer. Here it wasn't any more expensive than normal museum admission, I don't think. Maybe fifteen bucks? I suppose that's a lot for a couple hours.

You look very nice today. I got to see Body Worlds in Minneapolis. It was very interesting, but I admit a lot of it grossed me out, and I actually felt kind of queezy the whole time. They were strict about no photos/videos, but I managed to film a few seconds of one of the exhibits. It's actually the intro footage to my "The Weekend #4" video, if you want to see it.

You know, BodyWorlds is back in town. You and your Dad could make it a biennial event. It's not the same group of bodies. This one has the entire blood vasculature of an infant in Lucite. Amazing.
