Their country needs you? REALLY?
-
@livtyler83 Join the air force so you can drop supply crates to refugees who are going to resent your country ten years on? The hell? That's neither imperialism nor national defence. Lame.

What is the song in the background?

The project began as the Future International Military Airlifter (FIMA) group, set up in 1982 by Aérospatiale, British Aerospace (BAe), Lockheed, and Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) to develop a replacement for the C-130 Hercules and Transall C-160. Varying requirements and the complications of international politics caused slow progress. In 1989 Lockheed left the grouping and went on to develop an upgraded Hercules, the C-130J Super Hercules.
The A400M will take over one day.

@slfc1996 C-130Js are leaving RAF in 2022 and the older ones being removed immediately as the A400Ms come in. A400M does have short-take off and landing capability. I guess you didn't watch it at Farnborough last year.
-
@stalkingalizee there is always a place in the RAF for the c-130 it will be ages until it goes out of service completely. the a400m is only taking over some of the roles of the c-130. the a400m is also bigger and doesnt have the full capability of shorter landing and take off which the c-130 has.

I wish our Air Force has Harriers
-
C-130s and harriers... harriers are already gone and the C-130s are going to scrap once A400M comes.

@georg0829 There is, of course, the minor problem of North Korea having nuclear weapons. The Korean situation is a pressure cooker just waiting to explode. It's more complicated than just dropping a few bombs and sending in some troops.
How do you confuse an American ??, ask him to name a war they have won on their own that doesnt have the word "civil" in it.
Allies ??, dont make me laugh. They had a McDonnell rep in Argentina throughout the Falklands War keeping the Argie Skyhawks flying that were bombing our ships. They allowed the IRA to fundraise in their country for years.
I was in the RAF for 13 years and served in Gilf War One. The Americans killed more of our guys there than the Iraqis did.
