In the late 1880s off the coast of Africa, a young couple and their infant son escape a burning ship, ending up on land near uncharted rainforests. The couple craft themselves a treehouse from their ship's wreckage. The couple are killed by a savage leopard named Sabor. Kala, a gorilla whose own son was eaten by the vicious leopard, hears the cries of the orphaned infant, and finds him in the ruined treehouse. Kala is attacked by Sabor, who wants to kill and eat the baby, but Kala manages to get her tangled in the ropes holding the derelict rowboat, and she and the baby escape.

The kindly Kala takes the baby back to the Gorilla troop to raise as her own, despite her mate
Kerchak's disapproval. Kala raises the human child, naming him Tarzan. Though he befriends other gorillas in the troop and other animals, including the young female gorilla Terk and the male elephant Tantor, Tarzan finds himself unable to keep up with them, and takes great efforts to improve himself, including occasionally fashioning crude tools, to put him on par with the other gorillas.

As a young man, Tarzan is able to kill Sabor with his crude spear and protect the troop, earning Kerchak's reluctant respect.

  • @bradleyii I'm not over-analyzing, I'm just explaining why I've hated this movie ever since I was a wee little chap. Have a good 'morrow sir/madam. *tips hat*

  • @SgtMajorShutUp Pixar is apart of disney bro.

  • @CallMePercilla Good god, people like you who try to analyze a simple story is just ridiculous.

  • @unoiamacutie Its part of the circle of life because she is a natural predator and needs to eat. Look at her, she's skinny, her skin is loose -- she's starving. She must have been pretty desperate if she randomly attacked an entire group of gorillas. In the Lion King, Mufasa explains to Simba that they eat the antelope because they need to survive, the circle of life. Tarzan defending himself wasn't a problem, but Sabor isn't a villian.

  • @CallMePercilla She killed Tarzan's parents and tried to even kill Tarzan. Explain how that's part of the "circle of life." And besides, they were trying to survive themselves. The only way to do that was to kill her.

  • I hated it how they painted sabor as a villian. She was just trying to survive, maybe even had her own cubs to feed. Wasn't the whole "circle of life" thing explained a few movies ago?

  • Like a Boss

  • 4:24 I always shed a tear at that moment ;(

  • Disney really needs to go back to making movies like this, instead of trying to copy Pixar.
